My wife Nelda, little one Lola and myself joined the Marana community November 24th of 2008 as the new Pastor and family of Living Word Baptist Church. We came from Los Lunas New Mexico where we served the Lord and community for over 20 years. We were transplanted by the Lord from Tucson June 1st of 1988 to New Mexico and now have been brought back. Nelda and I have a heart for our community and desire to serve you in every way we possibly can. Nelda has a heart for teaching children the Bible and hiding God’s Word (memorization), scripture in their hearts. Nelda teaches 4th-6th grade Sunday school and Bible Builders, again, 4th–6th grade on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. There is of course Sunday school for all ages of children, Youth and Adults. God has truly blessed us in just the short time we have been here.
 

God has revealed to me that we must prepare ourselves in service to the communities in which we live. I want to through God’s Word restore people in their relationship to our heavenly Father. Scripture teaches us that the only way is through God’s Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6). In meeting the spiritual need of man we never overlook the physical and emotional needs of those around us. In the same way we cannot meet physical and emotional needs without touching the spiritual need. Jesus demonstrated to us that both emotional and physical always lead back to the spiritual.
 

We must teach as the Bible teaches that even though our God is a loving and forgiving God that through repentance from sin (the turning away from), and by faith and trust in His Son Jesus Christ, He is the only acceptable way to eternal life. We must repent of our sin…it is sin that eternally separates us and God must pour out his judgment and wrath on all sinners who reject His Son, God’s gift for life. We cannot earn it or be good enough to receive it. It is this brokenness I have for sinners that keep me going in a world that has all but gone off the deep end. Jesus is our fortress and shield. He is our hope for tomorrow. I have come to this as a life goal, "Bible Truth for a Fundamental Faith". There is no authority greater than God’s Holy Word!
 

I would like to invite you to come and join us…see what we are about. We are not good…only God is good! Romans 3:12 “All have turned away from God; all have gone wrong. No one does good, not even one." I look forward to an opportunity to meet, minister and serve you.
